Sue Ernst

Mrs. Sue Kiger Slater Ernst, 98, passed away January 4, 2018. She was born July 15, 1919 in Forsyth County to the late William Stedmon and Bertie Ella Fulk Kiger. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl G. Slater and Paul T. Ernst; a son, Sam Slater and two sisters, Clara Harbin and Ruby Nelson. Mrs. Ernst is survived by her children, Mike Slater (Lucy), Robin Slater Broadstreet (Wes), Bill Moore (Fran) and Linda Hammill; her grandchildren, Deanna Spainhour, Mark Slater (Tiffany), Lori Vosler (Nathan), John Slater (Amanda), Meredith and Kaitlin Slater, Sherri Bos, Laurie Rose, Stephen Moore, Jeff Badgett, and Jenny Bedsaul (Jeff); her brother, W. S. Kiger. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Wayne Eller officiating. The family request in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
