Sudie Tucker Wood

Mrs. Sudie Tucker Wood, 91, of Winston-Salem passed away September 28, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born May 8, 1919 in Rockingham County to the late Thomas William Tucker and Maud Albert Tucker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Jones Wood and by two sisters, Helen T. Brown and Augusta Batchelor, and a brother, O. C. Tucker. She is survived by two daughters, Shelva Choplin and husband Doug of Memphis, TN and Sonja Doub and husband Larry of Arcadia; five grandchildren, Shannon MacPhail, Kim Stanley, Sabrina Choplin, Anthony Doub, and Michael Doub. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren and a brother Virgil A. Tucker of Winston-Salem. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Sandy Ridge, NC. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their excellent care and compassion of Mrs. Wood.
