Sudie Sapp Landreth

KERNERSVILLE - Sudie Sapp Landreth, 101, passed away Friday, February 3, 2012 at Piney Grove Nursing & Rehab Center. Mrs. Landreth was born August 16, 1910, daughter of the late Welsey Columbus and Betty Nelson Sapp of Belews Creek, NC. Mrs. Landreth was a resident of Piney Grove Nursing facility in Kernersville for the past eleven years and was in declining health. She lived in the Sandy Ridge Community for 64 years and was a member of Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and joyfully participated in many other activities. Among her many hobbies were gardening, sewing, quilting and crocheting. She especially enjoyed working in her flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lum 'Hammock' Landreth; and a son J. C. Landreth. Surviving are two daughters, Betty Morris (husband, Calvin) of Kernersville and Jo Ann Smith of Asheboro; one son, Scotty Landreth (wife, Phyllis) of High Point; daughter in-law, Helen Landreth of Kernersville; one sister, Elizabeth Sapp Beanblossom of Lexington, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren and 2 great, great, great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 5, 2012, at Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church, 2223 Sandy Ridge Road, High Point, with Rev. Dr. Mary Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Goodwill Baptist Church Cemetery in Kernersville. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 2:45 pm Sunday at the church.
