Sudie Markland Howard

Mrs. Sudie Markland Howard, 89, a lifelong resident of Advance, passed away Tuesday, July 07, 2009 at Bermuda Commons. She was born July 29, 1919 in Davie County to George Ernest and Elizabeth Potts Markland. Mrs. Howard was a lifelong member of Advance United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Vestal Howard; four brothers and one sister. Surviving is a daughter, Joyce Robertson and a dear son-in-law, Darnell, both of Advance; three grandchildren, Mark Robertson and wife Karen, Gena Long and husband Michael and Darlene Mills; four great grandchildren, Adam Dellinger, Morgan Long, Matthew Mills and Taylor Robertson; a very special and dear friend, Cleo Carter and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Hayworth Miller Kinderton Chapel with Chaplain Craig Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Advance United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
