Kernersville – Mr. Steven Hein Guyan, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2023, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on July 28, 1949, in Monticello, Iowa to Harry Hein and Edna Crane Guyan. Steve retired from to United States Postal Service after many faithful years as a mail carrier. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served on the U.S.S Independence during the Vietnam War. Steve enjoyed visiting casinos and playing Cribbage, Farkle, Checkers, and all board games with his local grandchildren. Steve was a loving father, stepfather, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years, Ellen Guyan and his sister, Sally Turner.
He is survived by his son, Aaron Guyan; stepdaughter, Christy Snipes; stepson, Bryan Snipes (wife, Kristi); five grandchildren, Alexander Guyan, Archie Guyan, Elisha Snipes, Colton Snipes, and Shelby Snipes; three sisters, Barbara Riedel (husband, Richard) of Midlothian, VA, Linda Martin (husband, John) of Ocala, FL, and Jean Evans of Independence, MO; and one brother, Daniel Guyan (wife, Julie) of North Port, FL.
Private family services will be held at a later date to be determined. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
