Cpl. Steven Adam Bolton, 22 passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2024 at his home in Jacksonville, NC. He was born in Winston-Salem, NC on January 15, 2002 to Valerie Bolton and Frank Bolton. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Frank Bolton as well has his maternal grandparents, Pauline and Ken Lyle of Medford, MA as well as his paternal grandparents Georgia and Morris Bolton of Jacksonville, NC. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Addy Walker; his daughter, Elena Bolton; his Mother Valerie Bolton, his sister Laura Bolton; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and fellow marines.

Steven was a member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville and graduate of Reagan High School in Pfafftown, NC. After high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he went to boot camp at Parris Island, SC and was later stationed at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC. Steven took great pride in being a Marine. He received the rank of Corporal and received many other awards. He truly wanted to be the best he could be.

Steven was an avid cook, and he loved to explore and try new recipes. He was often called Chef Steven by friends and family. He loved to travel and play video games with friends. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his daughter and cherished every moment he had with her, as well as his family. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 6-8 pm at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home, 305 Bethania-Rural Hall Road, Rural Hall, NC 27045. Funeral Services will follow on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11 am at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville, 851 Ziglar Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105. Rev. Dr. Virgil Dwyer, Rev. Eddie Honeycutt and Rev. Terry Rausch officiating. Steven will be laid to rest with military honors in the church cemetery following the service. A gathering will be held in the church’s Family Life Center following the burial with light refreshments and a chance to visit with the family.
