Steven Willard Adams

Steven Willard Adams, affectionately known as "Moose" to his friends, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 26, 2024. He was born on January 3, 1961, to Jack and Rita Sparks Adams, and lived a life filled with dedication to his work, his family, and his community.

Steve was a proud graduate of West Forsyth High School and the Career Center, Class of 1979. Shortly after, he pursued his passion for heavy equipment by joining Sparks Construction Company as a skilled operator, a role that seemed destined from his childhood days spent around bulldozers and motor graders.

Beyond his work in construction, Steve served as a Volunteer Firefighter with the Clemmons Fire Department, where he forged lifelong friendships and a commitment to helping others. Later, he found fulfillment working as an assembly technician at Piedmont Aviation Services, where he was not only a valued employee but also a cherished friend to many. Steve was a master mechanic with a natural gift for working with machines of all sizes, whether they had two wheels, four wheels, or eighteen.

Steve's greatest joy, however, was the people in his life. He deeply loved his family and cherished his friends, always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He is survived by his devoted mother, Rita Sparks Adams; his sister, Tammy Wall (Brent); his nephews, Wesley Wall and Noah Wall (Sarah); and his great-nephew, Elias Wall. Steve also leaves behind several aunts, numerous cousins, and countless friends whose lives he touched with his kindness and humor.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Steve's friends from Clemmons Fire Department, Piedmont Aviation Services, and the Smitherman family of Smitherman Hardware in Lewisville for their unwavering support and camaraderie.

A visitation to celebrate Steve's life will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, 108 Kinderton Way, Advance, NC.
