Stephen Joseph Sweeney

KERNERSVILLE-Stephen Joseph Sweeney, 67, a devoted husband and father, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015. He was born July 27, 1948 in WV. Stephen graduated from Charleston Catholic High School, and attended Marshall University; he then served in the United States Navy and retired from Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. Stephen enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid deer hunter. He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Louise Veazey Sexton; and his step-father, Richard Sexton. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Teresa Sweeney of the home; daughter, Sarah Kathleen Sweeney of Kernersville; son, Benjamin Jarrett Sweeney of Denver; his twin brother, Michael Patrick Sweeney of Huntington, WV; and sister, Juliana Dotsenko of Cross Lanes, WV. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the funeral home.
