Stephen Eugene Simonds

Mr. Stephen Eugene Simonds, 46, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at High Point Regional Hospital. He was born October 26, 1963 in Forsyth County to Ronald Eugene and Sarah Smith Simonds. He graduated from West Forsyth in the class of '82 and Western Carolina in the class of '88 where he earned his B.S. Degree in Industrial Technology. He was employed by D.S. Miller, Inc. as a Certified Quality Engineer. Mr. Simonds was well liked by all who knew him. He was a Carolina Basketball fan and loved to play intermural basketball. He was a beloved son and brother. Mr. Simonds was a great dad, who enjoyed fishing, bicycling, camping, skiing and building sand sculptures at the beach with his son. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Surviving are his Mother, Sarah Hester and husband Jerry of Winston-Salem; his father, Ronold Simonds of Lewisville; one son, Grant Simonds of Lexington; one brother, Ken Simonds and wife Marie of Winston-Salem; former wife and friend, Donna B. Simonds of Lexington; best friend, Ken Walters of Winston-Salem, Nephew, Justin Hunt and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Rick Sewell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to N.C.
