KERNERSVILLE -Stephen ""Steve"" Earl Jumper, 50, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2008. He was born April 24, 1958 in Forsyth Co. to Peggie Dezern and Enos A. Jumper, Jr. Steve was a graduate of West Forsyth High School, and a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. At the age of 16 he gave his heart to Jesus while attending Gospel Light Christian camp. He also was an avid Tar Heel fan. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Helen C. and Enos A. Jumper, Sr., and Jessie and Charlie Dezern; several special uncles; a special aunt; and cousins. In addition to his parents of Walkertown, he is survived by a daughter, Krystal Dianne Jumper of Kernersville, the joy and sunshine of his life; three sisters, Kathryn Bowman and husband Harvey of Winston-Salem, Dianne Everhart and husband Gary of Kernersville, Cynthia Donley and husband Doug of Winston-Salem; former wife, Angela Jumper of Winston Salem; several nieces, nephews; great nieces and great nephews. He was loved by his family and many special friends. Steve will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family takes comfort in knowing that he has been set free from the pain that he battled. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Gospel Light Baptist Church Teen Chapel by Dr. Steve Roberson, Dr. Bobby Roberson, and Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church, and at other times at the home of Dianne and Gary Everhart, 406 Wesley Park Dr., Kernersville. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Revival Pain Center, in Elkin. Memorials may be made to Charcot Marie Tooth Association, 2700 Chestnut St., Chester, PA 19013 in Steve's name.
