Stephen Jones

High Point - Mr. Stephen "Steve" Lee Jones, 45, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 20, 1972 in Guilford County to Jimmy and Linda Jones. Steve was a loving son, husband, and father. He was a member of Triad Baptist Church where he was a deacon and was involved with flag football and the Awana Grand Prix and various other ministries in the church. Steve also enjoyed sports. He was a fan of the North Carolina Tarheels and the Carolina Panthers.
In addition to his parents, left to cherish his memory are his wife of 20 years, Christy Jones; two children, Ashlee and Justin Jones of the home; one sister, Amy Price (Brian) of Marion, NC; two nephews, Avery and Mitchell Price; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and Christy's family.
A memorial service for Steve will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Rob Decker officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made for Ashlee and Justin's mission trip fund at Triad Baptist Church, 1175 S. Main Street, Kernersville, NC 27284 or to the Jimmy V Foundation at 14600 Weston Pkwy, Cary, NC 27513.
