Marshville, NC - Mr. Stephen Eric Honeycutt, 77, formerly of Winston-Salem, passed away on December 28, 2017 at Matthews Medical Center. He was born on October 21, 1940 to Wilma Edythe Dotson Honeycutt and Albrey Honeycutt in Forsyth County, NC. Mr. Honeycutt was employed by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company until his retirement. His contributions to the local community included serving as a volunteer firefighter and Sheriff's Department Reserves. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Honeycutt; grandchild, Anthony Rickmon; and great grandchild, Keiana Slack. Surviving are his loving wife of 7 years, Mary Speed Honeycutt; children, Lynn Honeycutt Slack (Tim), Terri Honeycutt, Michelle Speed Greenhouse (Mark), Patricia Speed, as well as 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek with Rev. John Bishop officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Griffith Fire Dept. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
