Stella Alspaugh Moser

Stella ""Chickie"" Alspaugh Moser was born in Tallahassee, Florida on November 15, 1926 to John Culver Alspaugh and Pauline Cahill Alspaugh. She was a resident of Winston-Salem from age 7. She was married 46 wonderful years to the late Sidney Thomas (""T"") Moser, Jr. Mrs. Moser was preceded in death by her only brother, John C. (Sonny) Alspaugh, Jr. in 1945, and is survived by her two sisters, Gloria Hicks and Polly Anne Alspaugh. Also surviving Mrs. Moser are two sons, Tom Moser and spouse Mary Lynn Moser and Bob Moser; two daughters, Dianne Teague and Cathy Nail and spouse Steve Nail; five grandchildren, Angela Trapp, Amy Hodges, Laurie Watson, Michael Nail, and Anna Nail; 10 great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Lewisville High School and Draughon's Business College, and was employed by Ideal Dry Goods Company through 1946. Mrs. Moser had a heart for children and youth. She was a Cub Scout den mother and Brownie and Girl Scout leader for many years, school volunteer, and taught Sunday School faithfully for 30 years at Trinity Methodist Church, then Ardmore Methodist Church. An avid sports fan, she was a faithful supporter of her children's and grandchildrens's sports. She was a loyal and encouraging friend to many as well as beloved grandmother and great-grandmother whose greatest pleasure was spending time with family. She and her beloved ""T"" spent wonderful retirement years at the beach and golfing. She loved nature, and was a longtime Sierra Club member. The family would like to thank every single person who encouraged and helped her after the death of her beloved husband. God knows you by name and we have prayed He will bless you for your kindness. We thank in particular Pat Williamson, our special angel who, with the support of her husband Leon, gave so unselfishly of her time and love to ""Chickie"". We thank the amazing staff at Heritage Woods who loved and supported her. A service to honor Mrs. Moser's life will be held at 4:00pm, Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Lewisville United Methodist Church. A graveside service will immediately follow at the church. The family will receive friends from 3:00pm to 3:45pm prior to the service.
