Stanley Monroe Barton, Sr.

Mr. Stanley Monroe Barton, Sr., 68, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in South Boston, VA on September 24, 1946 the son of the late Edgar M. Barton and Myrthe Jordan Barton. Mr. Barton was of the Baptist faith. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a carpenter by trade. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth O. Barton. He is survived by his wife, Emily Crews Barton, four children, Susan B. Harris, Kimberly G. Barton, Stanley M. Barton, Jr. and Michael L. Barton, three brothers, Edgar Wayne Barton, Ronald L. Barton and Raymond Barton and a sister, Vicky Barton Farley. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 on Friday prior to the service at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
