Stamie Myers Moore

Mrs. Stamie Myers Moore, 95, formally of Davidson County, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born one of six in Davidson County on August 24, 1929, to the late Mr. Stamey Clifton Myers and Mrs. Lessie Green Myers. Stamie was a strong woman of faith; she was a longtime member of Friedberg Moravian Church. She worked as a salesclerk at Sears for 21 years until she retired. Following retirement, she found the love of beekeeping, gardening, reading, doing puzzles, camping, and fishing. Anything that would keep her mind sharp and busy, she was up for the challenge. Cooking was a passion of hers. She would often say “It’s not a good day if I don’t cook something.” Everyone loved her pies, baked goods, and dishes that she would prepare. Stamie was married for 65 years to the love of her life, Floyd James Moore Jr. Together they built a life full of love and memories with their six children, Sandra, Joyce, Sheila, Linda, Joan, and Buddy. Mrs. Moore was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her four daughters, Sandra Miller (Don), Joyce Moore, Sheila Vestal (Richard), and Linda Black (Barry); a son, Floyd Clifton “Buddy” Moore (Joyce); 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and her special cat, Bullet. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, Floyd James Moore, Jr.; a daughter, Joan Black; four sisters; and one brother.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, November 22, 2024, at Friedberg Moravian Church with the Rev. Dan Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. A burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. It was Mrs. Moore’s request that donations be made to Friedberg Moravian Church, 2178 Friedberg Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127. The family of Mrs. Moore is under the care of Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
