Sophia White

Mrs. Sophia Mae Tilley White, 85, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017. She was born October 6, 1932 in Stokes County to the late Harriet Virginia Overby Tilley and Zebedee Roscoe Tilley. Mrs. White was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Stanleyville. She loved flowers and cooking. Mrs. White was devoted to her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, Mrs. White was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Lee James. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, T.L. White Jr.; two daughters, Annette Hill (Chris) and Tina Coble (Scott); four grandchildren: Matthew, Sean, Brittney, and Jacob; four great-grandchildren: Lane, Michael, Henry, and Jaxon; one brother, Gordon Tilley (Janice); and numerous extended family. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 23, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
