Sophia Angelique 'Angie' Slotte

Sophia Angelique ""Angie"" Slotte, 40, went home to be with the Lord on October 8, 2011, at Forsyth Medical Center. Born on July 24, 1971, in Boeblingen, Deutschland, she was a devoted wife of Brent Slotte, loving mother of Douglas, Corey, and Emalee. Angie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a faithful volunteer and friend to many teachers, staff, and students at Calvary Baptist Day School. She would light up a room with her smile and was always putting others before herself. Angie was also pursuing her dream of being a teacher by attending the University of Phoenix. Angie will be greatly missed by her mother, Connie Ream-Harris; her father, Karl-Heinz Marquardt and wife Christa; step-father, Kevin C. Thorsen; grandmother, Betty Thorsen; grandfather, Stephen Lyle Ream; sisters and brothers, KayCe, Kallie, Christoph, Marc, Simon, Jeffrey, and Christian; aunts and uncles, Stephen, Karin, Gerhard, and Klaus; cousins, Shelby, Steven, Ralf, Thomas, Dunja, Nadine, Kim, Sebastian, and Patrick; nieces and nephews, Kevin, Belle, Lucas, Tabytha, Amanda, Megan, Michelle, Chantalle, Lars, and Celine; and two very special friends, Lori Southern and Susan Reid. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Doris Belle Budd-Ream and her paternal grandparents Karl and Klara Marquardt. A service will be held 4:00 pm Monday, October 10, 2011 in the Worship Center of Calvary Baptist Church, where the family will also receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:30pm, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in loving memory of Mrs. Angie Slotte to Calvary Baptist Church and Day School, 5000 Country Club Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
