Sonya Brown Tutterow

Mrs. Sonya Brown Tutterow, 76, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 at her home. She was born March 2, 1940 in Forsyth County to the late Ernest and Celia Brown. Mrs. Tutterow worked at R.J. Reynolds for 2 years and retired from Fairchild Industries with 38 years of service. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tutterow was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Tutterow and two grandchildren, Amick and Adam. She is survived by three children: Terry Tutterow (Teresa Mabe), Connie Mackie (Homer), and Michelle Horn (Amick); five grandchildren: Maria, Amber, Leah, Ryan, and Taylor; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 13 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 at the funeral home. Friends are also welcome to visit at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
