SonJia Jane Nance

Mrs. SonJia Jane Royall Nance, 59, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Home. She was born January 2, 1956 in Grayson County the daughter of Bobbi Ruth Sturgill Royall and George M. Royall. Mrs. Nance was a faithful worker in her church. She was an advocate for domestic violence and was presented an award for her service by the Governor of North Carolina. She had an entrepreneurial spirit and owned several companies providing jobs for many people. SonJia was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, ""Handmommy,"" and faithful friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Nance was preceded in death by two daughters, Autumn Lynn Lockamy and Sinea Sheree Padgett and her husband, Matt Padgett. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nance is survived by her husband, Rodney Nance; grandchildren: Chase Williams Lockamy, HunterEric Flippin, John Matthew Padgett II (Gunter) and D3(David Griffin III); sister, Mickie Lynn Baugus (Dale); brother, Joey Jay Royall (Darla); niece, Anya Brown; father-in-law, Jack Nance (Vera); sister-in-law, Kashemi Lambeth (Kim); Donna and David Griffin; Dakota Linn, Deven Nicole, and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 26 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Dr. Joe Houser, Elder and Rev. Jack T. Nance officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
