Mr. Sir Milton ""Sam,"" ""Mac,"" McLamb, Jr. of Lexington passed away Friday, April 3, 2009. Mr. McLamb was born August 7, 1921 in Harnett County, NC to the late Sir Milton McLamb, Sr. and Lucinda Allen McLamb. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII serving in the European Theatre and was retired from AT&T. Mr. McLamb was a member of the New Pioneers of America and loved to play golf, dote on his grandson and give people riddles to solve. He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers and a sister, Emma Parker. Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife of 47 years, Evalena Howard McLamb of the home, a son, Charles McLamb; four step children, Susan Brewer, Richard Foster, Doris Tursi, Linda Watkins; four granddaughters; Sonia Sutton, Amanda Foster, Diana Tursi, Savanna McLamb; a grandson; Tyler McLamb, two great granddaughters; Isabelle and Olivia Sutton, three sisters: Marilla Griffin, Virginia Thompson, Betty Hege, two brothers; Linwood McLamb, Herbert McLamb Allen and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 pm Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a m Monday, April 6, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel officiated by Rev. Bill Chatman. Entombment will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
