Sidney L. Smith

Mr. Sidney Levon Smith, age 85 of Advance, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  He was born April 26, 1938 in Stokes County to the late Austin N. Smith and Margaret McGee Smith.  Sidney was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Westinghouse.  He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Linda Weavil Smith and his two brothers, Marshall Smith and Douglas Smith.  Surviving are his three daughters, Andrea Winters (Jason), Allison Johnson (Neal) and Alisa Allen (Gary); five grandchildren, Chloe, Klaire, John, Symanthia and Traycee; and one great-grandchild, Zion. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 23, 2023 at Advance First Baptist Church Cemetery and will be officiated by Pastor Rodney Hellard. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Advance First Baptist Church, 1938 NC-801, Advance, NC 27006 or to a favorite organization of your choosing.
