Sidney Eugene Hutchins

Mr. Sidney Eugene Hutchins, 74, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. He was born on October 28, 1949, and was soon adopted by the late Sidney Hutchins and Emma Waddell Hutchins in Forsyth County, NC. Sid worked as a City of Winston-Salem water meter supervisor until retiring in 2002. He was thankful for the friendships he made there, especially with Wendell Halsey. He had a life-long passion for Oldsmobile 442s. Sid also loved helping those in his neighborhood. Sid’s family is grateful for the many caring neighbors and friends in their community. Sid is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carol Bedsaul Hutchins; and son, Nick Hutchins. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Piedmont Dialysis, especially his friend, Crystal. We also want to thank the caring Atrium Baptist Hospital ICU staff, as well as good friends, Troy and Kathy Sexton, who helped every step of the way. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Brian Taylor officiating.
