Sidney Beauchamp

Our loving husband and father, Allen, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2018 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home with his family by his side. He was a lifelong member of Sharon United Methodist Church. Allen was active in the church as long as his health permitted. He retired from Reynolds American with 32 years of service. After retirement, Allen enjoyed collecting and restoring antique tractors and also enjoyed many woodworking projects, making beautiful pens, toys, and unique pieces of furniture which will be treasured by his family. In his earlier years, he was a member of the Jaycees and was named Jaycees Young Man of the year for overseeing the building of the West Central Community Center. Allen was also a member of the Vienna Civic Club and with the help of many wonderful members, he ran the civic club fair booth for many years. He was a founding member of the Rust & Dust Tractor Club and enjoyed shows and trips with the club. Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Elaine Beauchamp; two sons, Gregg Beauchamp (Debbie) and Scott Beauchamp (Susan); two brothers, Clarence Beauchamp (Jean) and Michael Beauchamp (Miriam); sister, Bernice Mabe (Conrad); also surviving are many nieces and nephews and one special feline companion, "Pucci." A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 9, 2018 at Sharon United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Freeman and Rev. Tom Albert officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A reception will follow the burial in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to Sharon United Methodist Church Building Fund, 5330 Sharon Church Rd.
