Shirley Myers Swaim

Winston-SalemMs. Shirley Myers Swaim, 79, passed away Saturday, December 08, 2012 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born September 29, 1933 in Providence, Rhode Island to the late James and Hazel Holloway Myers. Ms. Swaim was a longtime and active member at Rosemont Baptist Church. She had a very gentle and generous spirit always willing to help others. Ms. Swaim worked at Pilot Freight Carriers for several years. Preceding her in death was her husband, Edward Swaim. Surviving is a sister, Alvie Myers Carter (Pete) of Jacksonville, Florida; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Leftwich (Carl) of Kernersville and Eleanor Scott of Greensboro; beloved cousins, Alvino Templeton (Marie), Charlie Myers (Dane), Jim Myers (Lynn), Patsy Myers, and Teresa Myers all of Winston-Salem; three special neighbors, Kathleen Milsaps, Nellie Bates, and Frank Auman; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Mark Reed officiating. Entombment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
