Shirley Robertson

Shirley passed away Friday evening, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, with her son and husband by her side – daughter home in Portland, OR. Shirley leaves her husband A.D. Robertson, son David, and daughter Dawn, married to Louis Hunt, as well as granddaughter Lauren Hunt, and Lauren’s two children – Shirley’s great grandson Shiloh and great granddaughter Juni.

Born in Kernersville, Shirley graduated high school there, ultimately making her home, for the last 36 years, in Winston. While Shirley and A.D. raised children Dawn and David, Shirley returned to school, earning undergraduate (Phi Beta Kappa, 1973) and graduate (1976) mathematics degrees, followed by her teaching career. Shirley began teaching junior high, next high school, then completing her career teaching mathematics with High Point University. Shirley loved learning and teaching more than most any other endeavor.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 1:00PM in Pine Grove Methodist Church, 1018 Piney Grv Rd, Kernersville, NC 27284.
