Shirley Reeder

Mrs. Shirley Joyce Shaw Reeder, 87, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Shirley was born February 18, 1935, in Red Banks Mississippi to the late Chester Daniel Shaw and Lurline B. Shaw. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 53 years, William Elliott “Bill” Reeder. She is survived by their three children, son Daniel E. Reeder and wife Cheryl, daughter Cathy Reeder McIntosh and husband Jeff and son Martin E. Reeder and wife Carol, four granddaughters, Shannon (Josh Craig) Reeder, Kassi (Aaron) McIntosh Stumb, Sydney Reeder and Alexandra Reeder and two great grandchildren, Aidan Craig and Austin Stumb. She is also survived by two sisters and their families, Jean Shaw Lanzillo and Peggy Coolidge Lewis. Shirley always had a very humble spirit and was a friend to all. She was a woman of great integrity. Her smile could always brighten a room and lift your spirits. She loved her family well and was a devoted wife and mother to her three children and their families. After raising her children, she had a successful career as a legal secretary, retiring from Bell Davis and Pitt of Winston-Salem. She was a follower of Christ and a member of Clemmons United Methodist Church for over fifty years, active in Sunday School, her circle and known for her famous chocolate pie. She was an avid bridge player, loved art, painting, and gardening, but most of all providing a warm home for her family and friends. Services will be held at Clemmons United Methodist Church, 3700 Clemmons Road, Clemmons, NC on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends after the service.
