Shirley Ann Roberts Orr

Mrs. Shirley Ann Roberts Orr, 64, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Orr was born on December 18, 1944 in Forsyth County to the late Lewis C. and Julia Roberts. She was an active member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church serving as both Secretary and Treasurer. Mrs. Orr was preceded in death by her fianc郩 John Wiley; a son Gregory Leon Orr; two brothers Lewis Carter Roberts, Jr. and Benjamin Franklin Roberts, Sr. She is survived by two daughters Gloria Orr and Faye Sturdivant and husband Kerry all of Winston-Salem; two sons Thomas Orr and wife Cheryl of Winston-Salem and Samuel Lewis Orr and wife JoAnna of Newnan, GA; eight grandchildren Thomas Lee Orr, Jr, Tamika Clayton, John Wesley Orr, Shanikia and Dewann Sturdivant, Samantha and Sarai Orr, and Alexander Samuel Orr; four great grandchildren; a very special sister Sharon Roberts and nephew Frederick Roberts, a stepdaughter Nikki Orr, a sister Bessie Roberts, four brothers Ray, Frederick, Johnny and Joseph Roberts, a special family friend Felicia Cuthrell and a host of relatives and friends. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, February 16, 2009 at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Samuel J. Cornelius officiating. Interment will follow at Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
