Shirley Tuttle Newman

Mrs. Shirley Tuttle Newman, 76, of Clemmons, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016 at her home. She was born May 24, 1940 in Forsyth County to Henrietta Griffin Tuttle and Oscar Wiley Tuttle. Mrs. Newman retired from Sara Lee in 1997 and loved dancing and spending time with her family. She was preceded by her husband, Curtis M. Newman; one son, Jimmy Newman; seven sisters and three brothers. Surviving are a daughter, Donna Thoms (Chad) of Jane Lew, West VA; three grandchildren, Terry Helms, Nathan Christmas and Angela Trueblood; two great grandchildren, Holden and Haylie Trueblood and one brother, Wiley Tuttle. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Chaplain Sheree Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. The family would like to thank Hospice & Palliative Care for their special care and compassion that was shown to Mrs. Newman.
