Shirley Shane Middleton

Shirley Shane Barley Middleton, 74, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015, at NC Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Shane was born October 26, 1940 in Brevard to Greer Leonard Barley, Sr. and Byrd Lane Barley. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She retired after 23 years of service with Drs. Culbreath, Pruitt, Miller, Stowe, Steinbicker and Taylor. Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Greer Leonard Barley, Jr. Surviving are her daughters, Cori Ray Lindley and husband Julius Neill of Snow Camp and Danielle Middleton Cook and husband Kristofer Piers of Charlotte; grandchildren, Neill Lindley, II and wife Katherine, Morgan Lindley, Alison Lindley and Alexandra Cook. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Neill Lindley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
