Shirley Mccuiston

Ms. Shirley Simpson McCuiston, 83, of Lexington passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at her home.

Shirley was born December 24, 1937 in Stanley County to Odell Simpson and Lillie Rushing Simpson.  She retired after 33 years of service at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.  In her free time, she loved to cross-stitch and crochet and enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer.  Every fall, one of her favorite things was watching The World Series on tv.  In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Shelby Jean Bell.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Pamela Holcomb and husband Chris and Rhonda McCuiston; son, Bruce Strupe and wife Rachel; grandchildren, Brittany, Christopher, Josh, Destany, Jamie, Nikki, Ashley, Tristan, and Jacob; and great-grandchild, Corey.

A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at a later date.
