Shirley Ann Gover Martin

Mrs. Shirley Ann Gover Martin, 75, passed away December 29, 2015 at her home. She was born March 27, 1940 in Rockingham County, NC to the late Thomas Whitt Gover and Vileter Shelton Gover. She was a graduate of John Motley Morehead High School in Eden. She retired from Lakeside Apartments with 45 years of service. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Henry Doffie (H.D., ""Pete"") Martin in 2012.

Surviving are her children, Timothy L. Martin and wife, Sharon of Clemmons and Tamera Tuttle Webster and husband, Jeffrey of Tobaccoville; three grandchildren, Alicia Martin, Matthew Tuttle, and Amanda Tuttle; two sisters, Ethel Craddock of Stoneville and Juanita Crowder of Graham; her beloved dog, Petey and a host of well-loved and attentive nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel on Wednesday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and other times at the home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
