Shirley Marriott

Shirley Taylor Marriott, 87, passed into the immediate presence of her Lord and Savior on July 3, 2022 in the serenity of Mountain Valley Hospice. Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved Gil Marriott, and was the last of her siblings, Jackie Taylor Rogers and Bob Taylor. She is survived by her two children, Dawn Gobble Hoback (George Hoback) and Ross Taylor Gobble (Kathy Gobble) and close family friend Alex Helsabeck. She spent her last few years at Cadence Living in Clemmons where she received loving care. Her artistry began in early childhood and would evolve as a multi-talented artist best known as a goldsmith. Shirley enjoyed entertaining her family and friends, caring for her azaleas and gardening and working tirelessly with her Sunny Side Stitchers group she founded at her beloved Home Moravian Church. A visitation will be at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel from 6-8 p.m. Saturday July 23, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Home Moravian Church with Rev. Andrew Heil officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Moravian Graveyard.
