Shirley Brown Miller Hunter

Mrs. Shirley Brown Miller Hunter, age 77 of Tobaccoville left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 4, 2013. She went peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Hunter was born on July 23, 1935 in Whitewood, VA to the late Rachel Victoria Cole and Fredrick Brown. Mrs. Hunter was retired from Sara Lee Hosiery with 30 years of service. Mrs. Hunter was an active member of Middle Cross Baptist Church in Pfafftown. She loved God and her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Miller and two brothers; Theodore Brown and Ralph Brown. Three step-sons: Audey, Joel, and Doyle Hunter. Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband; Joe Hunter, Five children: Lea (Randy) Moore of Germanton. Mike (Jackie) Miller of Tobaccoville, Jeff (Beverly) Miller of Tobaccoville, Tim (Lynette) Miller of King and Rusty Hunter of Pfafftown. Three sisters: Betty Altizer of Cleveland, OH, Aliese Wallace of Jefferson, NC and Geraldine (T.J.) Johnson of Cedar Bluff, VA. Eleven grandchildren: Melissa (Jason) Taylor, Randy (Allison) Pinnix, Candi (Scott) Marcle, Jeffrey (Glenda) Miller, Angie (Ronnie) Holbrook, Timmy Miller, Amanda (Mike) Duncan, Chris Miller, Savannah Sprinkle D.J. Moore and Lynsey Miller. Seventeen great-grandchildren: Justin, Ashleigh, Cody, Austin, Christina, Damon, Jessica, Nathan, Sterling, Ryleigh, Tyler, Anna, Carter, Easton, Zoey, Ethan and Eli. Funeral services for Mrs. Hunter will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Middle Cross Baptist Church in Pfafftown by Rev Gene Lawson. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller in Rural Hall Wednesday evening February 6th from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M.
