Shirley Vestal Ellison

WINSTON-SALEM-Mrs. Shirley Vestal Ellison, 66, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Shirley was born on February 17, 1946 in Forsyth County, NC to Burl Richard Vestal and Dorothy Mae Hulsey Vestal. Shirley graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School. After finishing college, she worked as a fashion buyer in New York City for Thalhimer's Department Store. Shirley retired from Marion Bass Securities where she worked as a stock broker. She was a former member of Ardmore United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem. Preceding Mrs. Ellison in death are her parents. Mrs. Ellison is survived by her husband, Larry Ellison of the home; three sons, Brad Ellison, Sr. and wife Yovanka of Mocksville, NC, Greg Ellison and wife Jennie of Charlotte, NC, and Matthew Ellison and wife Kim of Waxhaw, NC; five grandchildren, Brad Ellison, Jr., Holden Ellison, Abbey Ellison, Leo Carrera and Anthony Carrera; and one brother, Jimmie Vestal of St. Petersburg, FL. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Parklawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
