Shirley Taylor East, 90, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025. Born in Kingston, Jamaica on July 20, 1934, to Lester John Taylor and Pearl Almirall Taylor. Our mother was always kind and loving to family, friends and strangers. Shirley was a devoted member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Shirley loved her dear pets, road trips, camping, antiquing and sewing. Her favorite place in the world was Ft. Wilderness Campground at Disney World.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her one love and husband, Kenneth East; by her sister Joy Deschamps; her brother Lester John Taylor; and her beloved grandson Kenneth East Jr.

Surviving are her children and spouses, Kenneth and Stephanie, Karen and David, Donna and Tom, Kathrine, Andrea and Stephen, Petagay and Elpidio, Chantall and Corey and her niece Lucy. Shirley's living siblings are her sisters, Michelle Sebesta, Phyllis Burrell and brother Peter Taylor.

Additionally, Shirley is survived by her grandchildren and spouses, Shauna and Raymond, Tina and Christopher, Rudy and Jamie, Kevin and Toni, Dina, Michelle and Clint, Daniel and Kelly, Amanda and Jared, Taylor and Jerryd, PJ and Allie, Emmanuel, Sebastian and Clarissa, Celeste and Devin, and Emelyn.

Shirley was blessed with great grandchildren Brent, Krischion, Bella, Alivia, Luci, Henry, Kevin, Ariel, Amani, Skylar, Taylor, Willow, Henry, Zaylex, Darious and Lauren, Jaiden, Natalie, Marshall, Alexandra, Jeremiah, and Michaela and the most recent addition her great great-grandchild, Everley.

There will be no formal services at this time. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
