Sheryl 'Sherry' Lynn Bacon Melton

KERNERSVILLE - Sheryl Lynn Bacon Melton, 51, a loving wife and mother passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born February 3, 1961 in Cincinnati, OH to Aline Mae Murphy Bacon and the late Everett K. Bacon. Sherry was a very active member of Marshall Baptist Church and was employed with Piedmont International University. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Faith Nash. Surviving are her husband, Dwight D. Melton; two daughters, Andrea Melton of Winston Salem and Hannah Melton of Kernersville; her mother, Mae Bacon of Kernersville; one brother, Brian Bacon and wife, Phyllis of Tampa, FL; mother-in-law, Mary Glenna Melton; sister-in-law, Grace Snavely and husband, Bruce; brother-in-law, David Melton and wife, Kim. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Marshall Baptist Church with Rev. John Holmes and Rev. Larry Lamberth officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
