Mr. Sherwood Lee Carroll, 55, of Winston-Salem died Saturday, January 1, 2011, at home surrounded by his family and close friends. He was born May 14, 1955 in Smithfield, the son of the late Weldon Bruce and Dorothy Clark Carroll. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Zoe Anne Carroll; his children, Wendy Carroll, Todd (Crystal) Gifford, Angelina Taylor, Moreta Hemric, and Michael, Karolyn and Jordan Carroll; seven loving grandchildren, Michael, Todd, Dustin, Bethany, Laura, Brook and Anastacia; his siblings, Johnette Jones, Kathy Williams, Bruce (Melinne) Carroll and Dallas (Carol) Carroll. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John Daniel Carroll in 1973. Mr. Carroll's family would like to thank Jane Reade, Laura Smith , special friends, Angela and Phillip Harrison and Sylvia and Steve Cox for their loving and unconditional support. We would also like to thank Dr. Eugene Paschold and the wonderful staff and nurses at Derrick Davis Forsyth Cancer Center and Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Winston-Salem. A very special thank you to Ms. Denise LaPre. The family will receive friends Friday, January 7, 2011 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Mt.Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4700 Old Walkertown Road, Winston-Salem.
