Sherry Penn-Lane

WINSTON-SALEM –  Sherry C. Penn-Lane, 59 went to rejoice with her Heavenly Father on April 22nd, 2022 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with her dearest loved ones by her side. She was born on June 30, 1962 in Forsyth County to the late Luther Samuel Cecil and Lorraine Long Cecil.

Sherry dedicated most of her life to assisting and improving the lives of others through her cleaning service which all began with the Bess Family at the age of 18 taking care of two little girls that remained near and dear to her heart, Lauren & Alicia. She was a lover of all animals, cats being her favorite. During season, you would find her browsing the yard sales on weekends as she enjoyed shopping for unique finds, especially jewelry. The simple pleasures in life brought great joy to Sherry. She loved a nice night around the fire pit with family and friends, listening to a variety of good music and most recently the vacations to the beach and mountains she took with Lauren and her daughter Haley. One of her proudest moments was the day her son Shane was married to his lovely wife Sarah. She embraced the quality time she had to share with both him and her beloved husband Adrian Lane of nearly 13 years.

Sherry was a member of Pleasant Fork Church in Winston-Salem and was always very open with her beliefs and trust in our Lord and Savior. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Grandma Long and Grandma Cecil. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Adrian and babies Frasier, Bentley, Jenna & Jack of the home, her son Shane Penn and his wife Sarah, stepson Shawn Lane, brothers Michael Cecil (Robin) and Jeff Cecil (Tammy), Edward S. Wall adopted by heart, best friends Melody and David Brown as well as several special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other dear friends.

Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel in Winston-Salem on Wednesday, April 27th followed by a Celebration of Life in the Chapel beginning at 2:00pm with Dr. Joe Long and David Brown officiating. Interment will follow with a brief graveside service at Parklawn Memorial Park in Winston-Salem.
