Sherrill Lee Harbin, Sr.

Mr. Sherrill Lee Harbin, Sr., 76, of Winston Salem, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Springwood Care Center after a seven year battle with dementia. Sherrill was born January 7, 1933 in Davie County to the late Dillard and Beatrice Peoples Harbin. He was a member of Grace Baptist Temple. He retired from Quality Oil Company in Winston-Salem with many years of service and enjoyed playing golf. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Carolyn Harbin, a son, Mike Harbin and a brother, Harold Harbin. He is survived by his wife, Janice Harbin of the home; a son, Lee Harbin and wife Trish of Walnut Cove; a daughter, Carolyn Ross and husband John of Winston-Salem; a granddaughter, Heather Harbin; a great-grandson, Aden Slater; a brother, Glenn Harbin of Winston Salem. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:30pm, Monday, December 7, 2009 at Grace Baptist Temple with Pastor Ed Sears officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30pm to 7:30pm prior to the service. Burial will follow on Tuesday at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
