Summerfield – Sherri Michelle Guinn, 49, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the Gibson House of Hospice of Rockingham County. She was born on April 16, 1973, in Broward County, Florida to Lynn Lucas Perrigo and the late James Michael Guinn. Sherri was a strong, cheerful, and beautiful soul. She fought the cancer with a fearsome will and great attitude. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education through the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Sherri was bound and determined to reach her goal of becoming an ESL Teacher until the end. She was loved by so many and was an inspiration to all who her knew her.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Bella Michelle; and her maternal grandparents, John and Enid Lucas.
Left to cherish her memory are her eight children, Megan Brimmer, Celina Reyes, Emili Reyes, Olivia Reyes, John Perez, Isabel Perez, Mario Perez, and Angelique Perez; three grandchildren, Amaddelyna Brimmer, Amillieana Brimmer, and Amarrieana Brimmer; her mother, Lynn Perrigo; her sister, Lori Chase; her three nephews, Walter “Guy” Watkins, Aiden Chase, and Lucas Chase; her aunt, Wendy James; and three cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, September 8, 2022, at First Christian Church with the Dr. Pete Kunkle officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to Hospice of Rockingham County, 2150 NC Highway 65, Reidsville, NC 27320 in Sherri’s honor. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
