Shelby Tilley

Mrs. Shelby Jean Wall Tilley passed away on November 22nd, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on December 29, 1938, in Stokes County to the late Kermit and Wilma Wall. Shelby drove a 65-passenger bus at Pinnacle High School in 1956 & 1957 around the curves and hills of Sauratown Mountain and was awarded a 2-year safe driving award. Shelby met the love of her life in 1957, when their eyes met. They knew they were meant for each other and were married for 65 years. She worked for Wachovia Bank in Winston-Salem and Tennessee National Bank in Chattanooga, Tennessee. During their time in Tennessee, her husband graduated from Tennessee Temple University. They traveled together throughout the US and to 10 different countries teaching and preaching the word of God. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and was very proud to be a Pastor’s wife for 53 years. In addition to her parents, Shelby was preceded in death by a brother, Arbury Wall, Sr. She is survived by her husband, Myers F. Tilley; two daughters, Myra Cook (Kent), and Lisa Henry (Michael); four grandchildren, Joy Bryan (Andrew), Grace Replogle (Chris), Myranda Cook (fiancé Justin Baker), and Josh Cook; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Wall (Gloria), and a sister, Joann Pratt. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 28th, 2022, at Kerwin Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Hawtree, Rev. TJ Tilley, and Rev. Myers Tilley officiating. Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
