Shelby Fagg

WINSTON SALEM – Shelby Matthews Fagg, 83, passed away Friday, June 5, 2020 at her home. Shelby was born on August 12, 1936 in Stokes County to Willie Lee  Matthews Sr. and Mable Fasler Matthews. She was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church and sang in the choir for many years. Shelby was a great cook and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She shared her love of children by providing childcare in her home when needed.

In addition to her parents, Shelby was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Louis Fagg; one daughter, Lisa Turner; one son, Greg Fagg; two grandchildren, Justin and Tashia Turner; two brothers, Charles Matthews (Hilda Grey) and Larry Matthews, (Gail); and one sister, Sarah Alley (William).

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2020 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Walkertown with Rev. Frank Shumate and Rev. Matt Morrison officiating. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
