Sharon Irene Bixler Kinneman

Ms. Sharon Irene Bixler Kinneman, 65, of Winston-Salem and formerly of Gettysburg, PA, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2009 at her residence. She was born in Hanover, PA on August 8, 1944 to Gerald and Elizabeth Resh Bixler. Ms. Kinneman was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Gettysburg, PA and upon her move to North Carolina attended Redeemer Presbyterian Church with her family. She retired from the Franklin County Housing Authority where she was a manager. Ms. Kinneman had a passion for the underprivileged and devoted her life to social services. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and drawing, a talent she discovered later in life. Ms. Kinneman was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Bixler; two daughters Diane Toohey and husband Dan and Jennifer Kinneman and friend Sherri Cook all of Winston-Salem; her mother; five grandchildren, Mary Harrison, Emily and Anna Toohey, and Gabe Kinneman; two sisters Beverly Nell and husband Ricky and Kim Smith and husband John all of Gettysburg, PA; and two brothers Barry Bixler and wife Donna of Gettysburg, PA and Michael Bixler and wife Steffi of Thomasville, GA.
