Sharon Denise Farmer Jackson

Mrs. Sharon Denise Farmer Jackson passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born October 5, 1954 in Bexar County, TX the daughter of Yvonne Reese Farmer and the late R. Don Farmer. On August 14, 1977 she married the love of her life, David Jackson. She was the office manager for Obrien-Southern Trenching. Sharon was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are her mother, Yvonne R. Farmer of Greer, SC; husband, David Jackson of Rural Hall, NC; two daughters, Sarah Miller and husband, Kevin of Spartanburg, SC and Hannah Jackson of Raleigh, NC; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Miller; and sister, Donna Kirby of Greer, SC; and other extended family. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, December 15 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall, NC. A memorial service followed by a visitation will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, December 17 at Grace Baptist Church, 760 Gap Creek Road, Duncan, SC with the Rev. Danny Monroe officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Second Harvest Food Bank, 3655 Reed Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the 9th floor nurses at Forsyth Medical Center and to the staff at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for the tender care given to Sharon.
