Shane David Sowers

KERNERSVILLE-Shane David Sowers, 57 passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 at his home after a courageous battle with ""Lou Gehrig's Disease."" He was born September 26, 1958 in Guilford Co. to the late Donald Ray and Jean Grimes Sowers. Shane was a member of First Christian Church in Kernersville and was employed with Deere Hitachi for over 26 years. During his employment with Deere Hitachi he competed in the Hitachi Global Welding Competition with all of Deere Hitachi's factories and placed 4th. Shane received an award for his exceptional skill.
Surviving are his wife, Anita Booth Sowers of the home; two sons, Jason (Erika) Sowers of Walnut Cove and Mitchell (Pam) Sowers of High Point; one granddaughter, Abigail Grace Sowers; and a sister, Terri (Ryan) Eddy of Walnut Cove. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Dean Tsiolkas officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Mary, Carol, Marsha, Stephanie and Amanda the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice team.
