Scott Lanier Peddycord

KERNERSVILLE-Scott Lanier Peddycord, 56, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014. He was born April 5, 1958 in Forsyth Co. to Rex Lanier and Faye Gardner Peddycord.

Scott graduated from East Forsyth High School class of 1976. He was a composer, lead singer and bass player for the band Specttrus, and enjoyed playing for different events around town. Scott was saved in the fall of 2013 at Pisgah United Methodist Church. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends; until we meet again.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Nell Weaver Gardner Ballard; paternal grandparents, Paul Raymond and Vera Mae Vance Peddycord.

In addition to his parents surviving are his son, Kenneth L. Peddycord of Kernersville; brother, Stephen M. Peddycord and wife, Melody of Kernersville; two nephews, Michael A. and Matthew S. Peddycord; great-aunt, Mary Gardner Hutchins; and cousin, Lucy H. Vestal and husband, Jerry.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Hagan McClellan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
