Scarlet Sue Uhl

UHL Scarlet Sue Uhl went to be with our Lord and Savior on June 28, 2011. She was born in Hewett, WV on August 19, 1943, but resided in Sparta, NC for the past 18 years. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Lawrence Uhl; son, Kevin Kelley of Puyallup, WA; daughter, Lisa Stinespring Lineberger and husband Alex of Denver, NC; grandchildren, Krista and Karson Kelley of Puyallup, WA; two brothers, Larry and James Holstein; one sister, Drema Morrison; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Ivy Fannin Holstein; father, Callie Holstein; four sisters, Glendine Holstein, Barbara Ann Dunfee, Connie Primavera, Judy Morrison; and three brothers, Randall, Daniel and Roy Holstein. She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and wife. She was a college graduate of Parkersburg Community College with an Associate in Social Work. Sue spent the majority of her life as a volunteer giving her time to Battered Women's Shelter, Food Closet, Meals on Wheels, Adopt A Pet Foundation, The Share Medical Clinic, Tax/IRS Clinics For Seniors to name a few. She had the spiritual gift of compassion and it showed through the love for her family and pets. She will be greatly missed until we meet again. A memorial service will be held at St. Frances of Rome Church in Sparta, NC on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 6:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to either Hospice of Iredell County at www.hospiceofiredell.org or The Serenity House at www.carolinacomfortcoalition.org (704-664-2004).
