Sarah "Saedi" Bennett

Sarah Elizabeth “Saedi” Bennett, 38, departed this life on September 26th, 2022, at 4:13 AM while she was held by both parents as Jesus reclaimed His child, to bestow upon her the full rights of His child, a new body that is free of pain and worries of this world.

Sarah was born February 27, 1984 at 7:07 AM into the arms of her parents, James and Catherine Darnell.

Sarah worked at Zack’s Famous Frozen Yogurt in Kernersville for 16 years and befriended numerous coworkers and customers. She became a work mom to the “Zack’s girls” who we are grateful to for their love and support over the years. From them, Sarah’s family learned just how deep her friendships ran. She was a loyal and dedicated friend to so many across all walks of life.

Sarah was preceded in death by her grandfather, Hal DeWitt “Buddy” Messick; grandmothers, Veola Messick and Katherine Darnell; and great-grandmother, Sarah Elizabeth “Big Nanny” Messick.

In addition to her parents, Sarah’s strength lives on through the family she leaves behind which include her children, Ella Elizabeth Bennett, Jamison Elliott Bennett, and James Ethan Bennett; her brother, James Tyler Darnell and his husband Jarrett Ross Hodges; uncle, Hal DeWitt “Uncle Dee” Messick III who loved her as his own child; and father to her children, James Michael Bennet Jr.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with Rev. Daniel LaVenture officiating. The family will visit with friends from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Please come as you are, but Sarah requested casual attire and no ties.

Flowers will be graciously accepted and donated to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Sarah’s memory, but in lieu of flowers the family suggests you “do something good for someone who needs a little good in their day”. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
