Dr. Sarah Ellen Webster, 46, of Crewe, VA, died on July 16, 2022, of injuries from a car accident near Independence, VA.
Sarah was a helper. She devoted her life to helping others; as the Clinical Director at the Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation, as a member of the Virginia Victim Crisis and Response Team, as a therapist at Beaumont Juvenile Correctional Center, as a foster parent, and as a devoted friend. Before moving to Virginia, she was a therapist at Sweetser and at Community Counseling in Portland, ME, as well as other community counseling organizations in Maine and California.
She loved being with family and friends; whether at a concert, dinner with friends, playing a game or working together on a puzzle, or spending a weekend in one of the state parks cabins. She was always ready to plan and facilitate an event to celebrate special times in the lives of friends, colleagues and family.
And, you can’t mention Sarah without talking about her love for animals, especially those who needed to be “rescued” like her Sophie, Poe, and Pookie.
Whenever she got the chance to spend a few days in Maine, she loved spending time at the “camp” in Smithfield and relaxing in the cool waters of North Pond. She was always the first in the family to get into the pond on Memorial Day weekend – no matter how cold the water.
When spoken to about her behavior as a child once, she responded, “I’m just expressing my feelings!” The shirt she was wearing the day of the accident said, “I’m Just Feeling My Feelings.”
Surely her bubbly personality, infectious laugh, winning smile, and love of people will continue to make the world a better place through the lives of those she touched.
Still loved by her parents, Bob and Linda Webster; her sisters, Amy Roumell and Danielle Swann; brother in law, Karie Roumell; her nieces, Arianna and Kaia Roumell; aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many friends and colleagues; and greeting her on the other side of death, her little brother, Geoffrey Webster.
A celebration of Sarah’s life will be held on Oct. 2 at Twin Lakes State Park, Green Bay, Va. at the Cedar Crest Conference Center.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Richmond Animal League,11401 International Dr, Richmond, VA 23236, or the Virginia Association for Parks, 3601 Burton Rd, Bumpass, VA 23024.
