Sarah Emily Knighten Sechrist

Sarah Emily Knighten Sechrist, 92, went to be with her Lord on September 20th, 2015.
Born June 25, 1923 in Candler, North Carolina, Emily was the daughter of Luther and Margaret Knighten. A graduate of Candler High School Emily moved to Winston-Salem where she met and married the love of her life James after a whirlwind courtship of 3 days.
She was a much beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A steadfast prayer warrior and member of Calvary Baptist church for over 70 years, Emily served as a Sunday school teacher, member of the WMU and sang in the senior choir.
Emily retired from Western Electric after 25 years of service.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years James, her parents, 3 brothers, and one sister.
She is survived by 4 daughters Jackie Robinson Gouge, Margaret Warren ( Butch),Elaine Brown(Jim) and Donna Holder; grandchildren, Tony Warren(Pam) David Robinson(Melanie), Luke Brown( Carrie),Sarah Brown, Matthew Holder, Megan Holder and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister Jean Norris of Campobello, S.C. and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Calvary Baptist Church at 12:00, Wednesday September 23, 2015 with the funeral to follow at 1:30. The service will be conducted by Reverend Gary Chapman. Interment will be at Forsyth Memorial Park.
